Real-time Air Quality Index (WAQI.info)
Real-time air quality index (AQI) can be monitored using the data provides via Internet from the sites such as World Air Qiality Index (WAQI.info and aqicn.org) and the information depends on the quality of the data reported by respective cities. The overall quality is color coded:
- Green – Good
- Yellow – Moderate
- Orange – Unhealthy for sensitive groups
- Red – Unhealthy
- Blue – Very unhealthy
- Purple – Hazardous
This is just one example of online data on ecomonitoring parameters. We included the data for the main cities in Montenegro in the widget on the right side of the posts page on our website.
Horizon 2020-funded European Green Deal Calls for Proposals
The Green Deal Call worth €1 billion has been launched on the 18th of September. The call is the last within the H2020 Programme and just ahead of the launch of Horizon Europe, the next research and innovation programme kicking-off in 2021. Read more at: link.

ECOMON Project featured on PRVA TV
Last week, on the TV Prva in the informative show “60 minutes with Iris”, the ECOMON project, which is being realized at the University of Donja Gorica, was presented. ECOMON is supported by the Ministry of Science and aims to enable the measurement and analysis of environmental pollution parameters throughout Montenegro, using modern Internet of Things technologies.

Training on the preparation of grant reports
On September 18, 2020, members of the ECOMON team attended a training led by Ms. Ivana Staljetović, a grant project management expert. The training was conducted in the premises of the Ministry of Science by the consulting company International Consulting Expertise. The aim of the training was to acquaint grant beneficiaries with the specific requirements in the preparation of grant reports, with a special focus on Interim reporting and the accompanying procedures applied in this process. Participating in Two Workshops in July
During July, two online workshops were held in support of grant beneficiaries in the implementation of IPA projects, organized by the Ministry of Science and the consulting company ICE. Topics covered in these workshops were: “Risks, Crisis and Resilience”, 23.07.2020. and “Adaptive leadership” 30.07.2020.
During the first workshop, participants had the opportunity to gain insight into how to manage projects in risky times, develop the resilience of both their own and their team in crisis situations and to maintain a high degree of efficiency and effectiveness during similar situations. The second workshop was dedicated to adaptive leadership, how to implement decision-makers’ expectations, broaden strategic approaches, and implement/manage impactful change. ECOMON Equipment Procurement Call
Private institution the University of Donja Gorica is on 24. June 2020. initiated the process of submitting bids for the selection of the economically most favorable supplier for the procurement of equipment for the needs of the project ECOMON – Internet of things laboratory for real-time ecological monitoring, Collaborative grant scheme for innovative project ideas, EuropeAid / 162457 / ID / ACT / ME.
