Wrapping up the first year of the project

Despite the aggravating circumstances in which the ECOMON project has been implemented from the very beginning caused by the COVID-19 virus pandemic, the members of the project team have successfully implemented all the planned activities for the first project year. More precisely, an in-house IoT laboratory for measuring water and air pollution parameters has been established in the premises of the University of Donja Gorica. In addition, the implemented system, which consists of sensor equipment that was purposely procured for the needs of the project and which is co-financed by EU, is executed in the operational environment, tested, and validated. In this way, the conditions were created to install sensor nodes at the planned locations. These activities will be implemented by the end of March 2021, in order to put the sensor equipment into operation and ensure the collection of real-time parameters of environmental pollution.
